CONTEMPORANEA_Le Arti della Scena è un festival che da diciannove anni propone un progetto culturale rivolto ai nuovi ambiti della ricerca nel campo della cultura contemporanea e dello spettacolo dal vivo. Il festival ha sempre avuto, fin dai primi anni, la priorità di raccontare e interpretare le urgenze e le complessità del presente attraverso i molteplici linguaggi del contemporaneo; sperimentare percorsi artistici, realizzare progetti, strategie, reti, secondo un'evidente direzione di politica culturale immessa nel nostro tempo.
CONTEMPORANEA FESTIVAL18 prosegue la riflessione avviata nella scorsa edizione Vivere al Tempo del Crollo, un ragionamento che attraversa la storia recente e che diventa sempre più appropriato al momento che stiamo vivendo. Il crollo contiene tutti i requisiti per essere assunto come metafora, astrazione, ma anche realtà di questa epoca estrema, stracolma di eventi che mutano il corso delle cose in modo improvviso. È qualcosa che appartiene all'etica, alla politica, al sistema economico di un paese, a un principio filosofico e culturale. Ogni individuo ha una visione soggettiva del crollo, un insieme di avvenimenti, fantasie, sogni, ma anche paure e catastrofi che possono appartenere al presente, al passato o a un tempo indefinito. In particolare ciò che crolla nella percezione di questo tempo è il paesaggio sociale, mentre trionfano l'informatica e i social network. La combinazione di questi e altri sistemi creano non solo nuove forme di vita e nuovi canali di comunicazione, ma determinano un diverso modo di percepire il tempo e lo spazio che ci conduce a nuove strutture di pensiero. Il crollo contiene un collegamento inevitabile con ogni processo di crisi, si deve demolire per costruire, come principio originario di ogni procedimento dinamico di trasformazione.
Queste riflessioni ci hanno accompagnato fin qui, ma come sempre la realtà si presenta in maniera inaspettata e stupefacente e ci proietta nella sua rappresentazione come un'opera nell'arte. Ci siamo posti allora una serie di domande: può l'arte cogliere lo spirito di questi tempi e anticiparne le mosse? Può davvero essere un antidoto alla banalità? Qual è il suo reale impatto? Certo, l'arte non può e non deve cambiare il mondo, ma crediamo che possa aprire delle sfide. Gli artisti devono avere la possibilità di condividere le loro visioni su ciò che accade intorno a noi, sull'umanità e sui meccanismi della società. Tutti noi abbiamo bisogno del loro sguardo, della loro ispirazione, delle diverse prospettive che ci offrono per affrontare l'epoca del crollo, del cedimento, della rovina.
Pensieri, osservazioni che hanno accompagnato la costruzione di questa sedicesima edizione, caratterizzata per la particolare attenzione rivolta agli artisti e al loro percorso creativo, all'agire intellettuale e progettuale dell'opera. Gli incontri, il confronto tra artisti, i momenti teorici di approfondimento, le esperienze laboratoriali, le conferenze, i seminari di studio, le produzioni site specific sono le azioni che ci guideranno per tutta la durata del progetto. Contemporanea Festival considera come elemento fondante dell'agire creativo la sommatoria di azioni che compongono l'opera: al centro della progettazione c'è quindi il 'processo' come percorso necessario, come punto d'incontro dell'intera comunità, come confronto critico sull'opera nel suo divenire, come angolo di osservazione e sguardo aperto sul futuro.
CONTEMPORANEA_Le Arti della Scena is a festival that for nineteen years has been proposing a cultural project aimed at new areas of research in the field of contemporary culture and live entertainment. From the very beginning, the Festival has always had the priority of telling and interpreting the urgencies and complexities of the present through the many languages of the contemporary world; experimenting with artistic paths, realizing projects, strategies, rituals according to an evident direction of cultural policy introduced into our time.
CONTEMPORANEA FESTIVAL 18 continues the reflection started in the last edition, a thought that goes through recent history and that becomes more and more appropriate of the moment we are living. The collapse has all the requirements to be considered as a metaphor, as an abstraction, but also as a reality of this extreme time, full of events that change the course of things suddenly. It is something that belongs to ethics, to politics, to the economic system of a country, to a philosophical and cultural principle. Each person has a subjective view of the collapse, a set of events, imaginations, dreams, but also fears and catastrophes that may belong to the present, the past or an indefinite time. In particular, what collapses in the perception of this time is the social landscape, while computer science and social networks triumph. The combination of these and other systems not only creates new forms of life and new channels of communication, but also determines a different way of perceiving time and space that leads us to new structures of thought. The collapse contains an inevitable link with any process of crisis, it must be demolished to build, as the original principle of any dynamic process of transformation.
These reflections have accompanied us so far, but as always reality presents itself in an unexpected and amazing way and projects us into its representation as an opera in the world of art. So we asked ourselves a series of questions: can art capture the spirit of these times and anticipate their moves? Can it really be an antidote to banality? What is its real impact? Of course, art cannot and must not change the world, but we believe that it can open up challenges. Artists must have the opportunity to share their visions about what is happening around us, about humanity and the mechanisms of society. We all need of their vision, of their inspiration, of the different perspectives they offer us to face the time of collapse, of yielding, of ruin.
Thoughts, observations that accompanied the construction of this sixteenth edition, characterized by the special attention given to the artists and their creative path, intellectual action and design of the work. The meetings, the confrontation between the artists, the theoretical moments of deepening, the laboratory experiences, the conferences, the seminars of study, the site-specific production are the actions that will guide us for the whole duration of the project. Contemporanea Festival considers as a founding element of creative activity the sum of actions that make up the art work: at the center of the planning there is therefore the 'process' as a necessary path as a meeting point for the entire community, as a critical discussion on the artwork in its becoming, as a corner of observation and open look at the future.
