Sul palco del Fabbricone di scena sei funambolici trapezisti sonori a far volteggiare note e suoni, senza nessuna rete di protezione.
Dagli Stati Uniti arrivano Mary Halvorson e Ches Smith. La Halvorson è la chitarrista dei Anthony Braxton e ha inciso quasi 80 album, tra quelli a suo nome e quelli in cui collabora con il fior fiore della scena jazz/ impro statunitense. Smith, batterista, vibrafonista e percussionista tra i più stimati e ammirati della musica contemporanea, è un vero talento poliedrico a sua agio in qualsiasi contesto sonoro, dal jazz all'alternative rock.
Nella stessa serata, due duetti Italiani: SKINSHOUT, con l'affascinante voce di Gaia Mattiuzzi e la fantasiosa batteria di Francesco Cusa, in un progetto che prende spunto dalla Black Music delle radici usata come propellente per volare verso nuove galassie musicali.
E REDSHIFT, con due dei nomi di punta dell'etichetta “El Gallo Rojo”: il sassofonista Beppe Scardino, in bilico tra tradizione e sperimentazione, e l'inarrestabile batteria di Massimiliano Sorrentini.
Una notte dedicata alla memoria del grande Ornette Coleman maestro di creatività, immaginazione e coraggio.

 

An emotional evening. On the stage of Fabbricone six “funambulist” musicians make the sound of notes swing freely, with no net beneath.
Directly from USA Mary Halvorson e Ches Smith . She is Anthony Braxton's favourite guitarist, and has recorded almost 80 albums, some on her own and some in collaboration with the cream of the crop of the American iazz/ impro scene.
Ches Smith, is a true versatile talent, perfectly at ease both in improvisation and jazz as well as in alternative rock bands. He has worked with Marc Ribot, Tim Berne, Mike Patton, Xiu Xiu, Carla Bozulich and many more.
In the same evening two excellent Italian duos: SKINSHOUT, with the fascinating voice of Gaia Mattiuzzi and the inventive drums of Francesco Cusa. in a project inspired by Black Music and its deep roots, used as a fuel for their personal and electrifiyng improvisations.
Finally, REDSHIFT, two among the best musicians of the indipendent record label “El Gallo Rojo”: Beppe Scardino's saxophone, between tradition and experimentation and the unstoppable drums of Massimiliano Sorrentini.
We dedicate this musical evening in memory of the great Ornette Coleman, a master of creativity, imagination and courage.
