Performer e danzatrice vincitrice di premi, direttrice del Karavan Ensemble, Yael Karavan è nata in Israele ed è cresciuta tra Firenze, Parigi e Londra. Ha esplorato l’Europa, New York, il Brasile e il Giappone cercando di sviluppare un linguaggio di espressione fisica contemporanea incorporando l’est e l’ovest, la danza e la recitazione. Yael esplora i temi della memoria, della metamorfosi, dell’invisibile e dell’assurdo, intrecciando le atmosfere irreali con un certo umorismo, cercando un equilibrio tra tragico e comico. Nel suo nuovo spettacolo Flesh, creato appositamente per Contemporanea Festival Prato, Yael crea una piéce che trae ispirazione dallo spazio e lascia che il lavoro si sviluppi con l’ambiente circostante.

Award winning Performer, Dancer and Director of The Karavan Ensemble, Yael Karavan was born in Israel and grew up in Florence, Paris and London. She explored Europe, N.Y, Brazil and Japan searching to develop a contemporary physical language of expression merging between east and west, dance and acting. She explores the themes of memory, metamorphoses, the invisible and the absurd, intertwining dreamlike atmospheres with a humorous edge, balancing on the fine line between the tragic and the comic. In her new piece Flesh, created especially for Contemporanea festival Prato, Yael will create a piece inspired by the space and will let the work grow within the framework of its surroundings.
